Department of Medicine A
In the Department of Medicine A (Med A) at the University Hospital of Münster, we treat all cancers of the different organs, including the hematopoietic system. Special focus for diagnosis, treatment, and research lies in leukemia and lymphoma, lung cancer, malignant tumors of the digestive system, germ cell tumors (e.g. testicular cancer), as well as malignant tumors of the bone and the connective tissue.
We are one of the largest centers for leukemia and lymphomas in Germany. A specialized center for bone marrow and stem cell transplantation is connected to our department.
In addition, we provide options in diagnosis and treatment for all lung diseases, as well as diseases in the coagulation system (e.g. thrombosis, bleeding disorders), with a large and interregional catchment area.
We offer our patients state-of-the-art in the diagnosis and treatment, and cooperate with other departments of the university hospital in our Comprehensive Cancer Center Münster (CCCM). Patients may benefit from latest medical advances by the participation in national and international clinical studies. Please find hereafter information about the service and offers of our department.

Center of Oncology –
The Comprehensive Cancer Center Münster (CCCM) at the University Hospital of Münster (UKM) is the central facility for the interdisciplinary treatment of oncological patients.
